THERE WAS AN OLD LADY... through the Seasons (Repeat)
I know an old lady who has been busy swallowing numbers, pies, bats, snow... and much more. Join Doreen Cowin in this make and take workshop and you will make an old lady for story-telling. As well you will make props for at least 3 stories (numbers, Thanksgiving, Hallowe'en). You will receive an extensive hand-out with related activities as well as more stories and paper patterns for props (so that you can make the stories at home with your own materials). Enjoy this children's favourite throughout the year! Please bring scissors, markers and a glue stick.

HIBERNATION - MAKE & TAKE
Join us for this workshop and make games and stories that teach children about animals and hibernation. Make a cave storyboard and felt pieces for 2 hibernation stories, a math game, habitat game, and a classification game. Extensive hand-out. Please bring scissors, markers and a glue stick.

DOWN ON THE FARM
Join Sharon Cunningham for this Story Time Felts sets consists of 5 interactive pages including: Red Barn, Inside of Barn, Apple Orchard, Pasture Scene, Garden with Scarecrow. You will develop resources to accompany each 9x11" page which will allow you to create a series of learning units spanning from September and back to school, through Harvest to November and falling leaves. Bring a basic kit of markers, glue stick, scissors for paper and felt. Bring money if you wish to use the photocopier or laminator as this is not included. Additional Story Time Felts sets will be available for sale (cash or cheque) at the workshop. A sample of the felt set can be seen at the CCPRN office.

TOUR OF HOMES - BARRHAVEN
Join us for another informative tour of daycare homes. Learn how other caregivers set up their homes, separate their home life from their daycare life, store toys, etc. Generous Barrhaven caregivers have offered to open their homes for this tour. They all offer a completely different setting. Meeting place to be determined. Expected finish time between 11 and noon. To register, please call Linda at extension 22. Please let her know if you are willing to drive other caregivers.

FROLICKING INTO FALL - ACTIVE PLAY WITH LEAVES
This special event is turned into a workshop for those who cannot attend one of the events (see page 6 of the September/October newsletter). You will participate in the games and activities and take home a kit of leaves and a hand-out. Wear comfortable clothes.

WET FELTING
Make story time come to life. In this workshop you will learn to wet felt a story mat or wall hanging. These creations of art are interactive and fun for you and the children. You will also learn story telling techniques and get inspired to spin tales of your own. Wear comfortable clothing.

START UP SESSION
Join Andrea Gingras for an informative workshop on starting up a home daycare. Learn about contracts, policies, home safety, rules and regulations, advertising and much more. Start-up kits are available from our office for $5.00 at any time in either English or French. They are $7.00 if we mail it.

LITERACY THROUGH SCIENCE
This workshop will help you discover how Literacy can be introduced to chidlren through some fun and simple science activities. NATURE TABLE
Join Annie Boudreau for this very special workshop! She will teach the year long story with a mini puppet show. With that inspiration you will needle felt your very own character for your very own nature table. Needle felting is a wonderful, simple art that's fun and addictive. All one needs is a felting needle and carded wool. With these tools you can create wonderful puppets and dolls for puppet shows and for the children to play with.

CHRISTMAS JOY BOOKS
This Story Time Felts set consists of 4 interactive pages including: Santa's workshop, Village house, Winter scene with train and Living room with fireplace/Christmas tree. Join Sharon Cunningham and you will develop a set of resources for each 9x11" page that will enhance your holiday unit. The House and Village Train pages can be used together as a backdrop for telling the story of Polar Express. We will start with a November "Advent" theme and finish with an "after Christmas Santa returns to the North Pole" theme that will take the set into January lessons. Bring money if you wish to use the photocopier or laminator as this is not included. Additional Story Time Felts sets will be available for sale (cash or cheque) at the workshop. There is an optional cassette of songs that can be used with the figures in the set that will be for sale for $7.00 at thr workshop. A sample of the felt set can be seen at the CCPRN office.
