Caregivers, parents and organizations may sign up for a Non-Member Account (free) or a Member Account ($25.00).
A Non-Member Account allows you to search the complete site as well as to sign up for workshops and children's events.
A Member Account allows you to access all of our resources, programs, discounts, and to receive our newsletters. Listed below are some of the other benefits of a Member Account:
Newsletter "Together In Caring"
Our newsletter contains activities, arts and crafts, songs and stories, information about upcoming workshops and events for children, articles about child development and behaviour, and much more! Published 6 times per year, this newsletter is a valuable resource for our members.
Workshops for Caregivers
We offer evening and weekend workshops for caregivers, with topics ranging from child guidance to communication with parents, income tax to nutrition, "make + take" resources to planning activities. Workshops may require a material fee.
Events for Children
Children and caregivers can play and learn at our events - magicians, farm tours, holiday parties, gymnastics, music, etc. Costs are kept low (cost-recovery) while fun is at an all-time high!
Access to Clients
Members become part of a database of caregivers that parents can search at their leisure. Parents log on to the website and search by postal code, language and/or schools served.
Our Caregiver Support Volunteers provide mentoring to our members on all aspects of home child care.
District Social Events
Our Social Support Volunteers offer networking opportunities to caregivers around the city.
New Member Orientation
All new CCPRN members are welcome to attend a New Member Orientation evening. These meetings offer caregivers an opportunity to meet other new members, to meet staff, to see the office and to learn about our resources. All registrants also receive a free die cut bag (paper cut outs and a hand-out of ideas for how to use the cut outs).
Infant-Child CPR/First Aid
"The Lifesaver" is a non-certified course offered by St. John Ambulance that has been specially adapted for those working with small children. The Ministry of Children and Youth Services and the City of Ottawa provide the funding for this training, which allows CCPRN to offer these courses free of charge to our caregiver members.
We have hundreds of books and magazines, in English and French - crafts, games, child development, behaviour, nutrition, health, etc. We have several die cutters as well as hundreds of dies in the office - die cutters cut multiple shapes at one time - with just a roll of the hand. We also have a photocopier and a laminator available for use at a small fee.
