Newsletter “Together In Caring”
Activities, arts & crafts, songs and stories, information about upcoming workshops & events for children, articles about child development and behaviour, and much more! Published 6 times yearly, this newsletter is a valuable resource for our members.
Workshops for Caregivers
We offer evening or Saturday workshops for caregivers, with topics ranging from child guidance to communication with parents, income tax to nutrition, “make + take” resources to planning activities. Workshops are offered on a cost recovery basis, and many are free of charge.
Events for Children
Children and caregivers can play and learn at our events - magicians, farm tours, holiday parties, gymnastics, music, etc. Costs are kept low while fun is at an all time high!
Parent Calls
When parents call CCPRN looking for childcare, we provide them with first names, street names, phone numbers and email addresses of our member caregivers in the area. The parent & caregiver are then free to make private home child arrangements.
Telephone Support
Our Caregiver Support Volunteers provide mentoring to our members. Their expertise ranges from Income Tax to child development.
District Social Events
Members wishing to connect with other caregivers can attend evening social events held in different areas of the city, organized by CCPRN Social Support Volunteers
New Member Orientation
All new CCPRN members are welcome to attend a New Member Orientation evening. It’s a chance to meet other new members, meet staff, see the office and learn about our resources.
Infant-Child CPR/First Aid
“The Lifesaver” is a non-certified course offered by St. John Ambulance that has been specially adapted for those working with small children. The Ministry of Community, Family and Children’s Services provides the funding for this training, which allows CCPRN to offer these courses free of charge to members.
Office Resources
We have hundreds of books and magazines, in English and French - crafts, games, child development, behaviour, nutrition, health, etc. Die cutters cut multiple shapes at one time – with just a roll of the hand. We have several die cutters in the office. Photocopiers and a Laminator are available for use at a minimum fee.
