Neighbourhood Networks
The Child Care Providers Resource Network of Ottawa-Carleton presently has 56 Network Leaders in place to help caregivers and parents come in contact with one another. Network Leaders are volunteers that assist the organization and they also provide home child care within their own homes.
For members of the Child Care Providers Resource Network of Ottawa-Carleton, this is a service that is included as one of the many benefits. Besides having your name put on a list, some networks have evening get togethers for networking, outings, interactive sessions with the daycare children, i.e. Carekids Exercise, etc.
With this service, the Network Leaders will NOT suggest, recommend or refer any of the caregivers on her listing. The names are given out on a rotational basis.
The service to parents is "FREE". None of these caregivers have been screened and it is up to the parents to interview and check references.
For caregiver names in your area please call 749-5211, press 2. Please leave your name, phone number, the street you live on (please spell) and the name of the area (i.e. Glebe). Someone will return your call with the name(s) of the Network Leaders. The Network Leader will give you names of caregivers in your area.
Members - please call your network leader if you have space in your home daycare - she can relay this information to parents who are referred from our office.
NETWORK LEADER NEWS
It was great seeing some of you at our Network Leader Social in September and we hope to make this a fairly regular event as the feedback was very positive. As always when a group of caregivers get together there’s a wealth of ideas to share and information to learn from each other! Thanks again to those who participated.
If you’ve not yet planned your Funded Event then please call Doreen to chat about what other networks are doing and what might work for you.
We still have some Networks in need of a leader or two.

We are looking for a Network Leader for the Alta Vista area. At present, Brenda Burns is acting Network Leader. If you are considering volunteering, but not wanting to go it alone, I would enjoy working together on the many new projects CCPRN have in the works for us. Please contact the office if you are interested.
A big thank you to Danielle Fox for her work as network leader. She is enjoying her new career.
It would be great to get together in November or plan an event. I am open to any event, outing or social and, as an extra bonus, CCPRN will fund it! How can we not get together? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Ladies from our Network!!! Once again Shelley and I thank you for your incoming calls relating to your status on your daycare!!! It is much appreciated and saves time for parents who are looking for care.
I know myself I would like a refund on summer!!! It was certainly a different summer in terms of enjoying the outdoors! I believe I had rain boots at my side door for the majority of the summer.......
It has been awhile since our Network has had a social Night!!! We realize that everyone has their nights scheduled for family, ie. hockey, basketball, etc. but it would be wonderful to have a die-cut night with coffee/drinks for a meet and greet. Let us know what you would prefer for our get together!!!
Please make sure to read your Newsletter thoroughly as there is a lot of great information pertaining to your daycare! If you have any questions or would just like to talk please do not hesitate to give us a call!!

Happy Fall to one and all!
We had a very enjoyable dinner at La Strada & were fortunate enough to have the whole restaurant to ourselves. Lisa is 'one up' on the rest of us as she scouted out some emu oil. Let's see who else has some by the time we meet again. Erika has promised to demonstrate its application and share her tips with us. We are expecting Catharine & Dianne to share their wonderful 'get-a-way photos' with us. And now that we can put a face to the name, welcome on board Becky!
We are booked in at the office Oct. 23rd for our next network meeting. This should be fun! Bring lots of construction paper, scissors, & anything you would like laminated. I will show you how to use the die-cut machines in case you haven't used them before. Please call/email me to confirm your attendance to help me decide how much pizza to order in.

Fall is upon us, little ones back to school and routines are back in our lives. A Fall park gathering was attempted but with our numerous busy schedules, it's pretty hard. Come join Sheila and Tammy for a night of sharing Christmas Craft ideas, die cutting and laminating ~ Wednesday October 29 at the CCPRN office at 7PM. This event is open to all members.
Sheila and Tammy are planning a Christmas get-together towards the end of November. We will be contacting you at the end of October with a firm date.
Welcome to any new members of the Greenbank Network. There are numerous playgroups in the area - a great way to meet fellow caregivers.
We hope everyone has a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

Hello Everyone - I would like to start out by welcoming our newest member, Jennifer Martin to our network.
Hope you all had a great summer, now that the kids are back in school we can get back into our daily routines (I know I can). Playgroups have started up again and now that the colder weather is setting in, it's great to have somewhere to take the children. Last month we had a great dinner at Broadways; this month we will be going to LoneStar Grill for some all you can eat Fajitas - YUMMY!

Hello Ladies in New Barrhaven! I am having an exciting workshop at my home. It's a "How to Set up Your Home for an Interview" workshop. I will have some helpful advice on how to get started for that most important first meet with parents. As well if there is anyone who needs help with updating their contracts or getting one started, myself and someone from CCPRN will be on hand to assist you. For the fun part of the evening, I will have the Christmas and Winter die cutters for later on in the evening. I'm asking that everyone bring a treat to share. Refreshments will be provided (non alcoholic). And this work shop is FREE! Thanks to Doreen Cowin. Thursday November 13, at 6:30 @ 150 Tapestry Drive (off Beatrice North). Please call or email before November 3.

They’re coming whether I’m ready or not though so please join us on Mon. Nov.10th for our get together and share your ideas for Christmas-special crafts, presents for the children, programming ideas, well you get the idea! RSVP by Monday 3rd November so that I can make a reservation. We’re thinking somewhere other than The Cat for November so if you have a preference please let me know that too.
