Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a member to participate in workshops?
Everyone is welcome to attend the workshops. Please note that the focus is always on caregivers/caregiving. Caregiver’s issues and concerns are often different from parent’s issues. If in doubt please call the office or e-mail

Do I need to register or can I just show up?
Everyone must register prior to the workshop.

How do I register?
You have 2 methods to choose from:

  1. Website.
  2. Telephone

How will I know if my registration was processed correctly?
You will be able to check your account on-line to see what you have registered for and if any payment you made has been processed. You will also receive an automatically generated e-mail 1 week in advance of the event to remind you of your registration.

When can I register for the workshops?
You can register for workshops as soon as they are listed on the website.

Is there a fee for the workshops?
All CCPRN programs are free.

Can I cancel my registration?
You can cancel your registration by calling the office or sending us an email to If you are unable to attend a workshop please let us know as soon as possible. We may have others on a waiting list or we need to cancel due to low numbers.

What if the workshop I want is full?

When a workshop is full a waiting list is formed. You will receive a pop-up message saying that you have been placed on a waiting list. If there are enough people on the waiting list, it may be possible to offer the workshop a second time – if this happens you will be contacted via e-mail or telephone.

Do I need to live in Ontario to attend a workshop?
Quebec residents are encouraged to register for workshops. However, if the workshop fills up and a wait list is established, CCPRN reserves the right to notify the Quebec residents of the cancellation of their registrations.

Are workshops offered in other languages than English?
In some instances, facilitators may run the workshop in French and English. In that case, it will be noted in the description of the event. Events that are offered in French will be written in French and will be posted on the French website.

Can I suggest a workshop and/or location?
Yes. We are always looking for input from our members.

What happens at a workshop?
Workshops are often interactive - meaning caregivers are encouraged to participate in their own learning by asking and answering questions and by participating in small groups.

Workshops on arts and crafts have samples to view and a detailed hand-out so that you can organize the crafts for your daycare children to do at home.

Make and take workshops involve actually making learning games such as memory games, felt board stories, math games, puzzles, puppets and much more. Make and takes are often theme based and include an extensive hand-out of poems, songs, rhymes as well as arts/crafts ideas and gross motor ideas. There are always samples and assistance in making the learning activities. This is a great way to add program materials to your daycare at a small cost.

Who can attend Room to Bloom, First Aid/CPR and other specialty training?
In collaboration with our partners we give Ontario based caregivers priority for this training. If you see a training event that you are unable to register for - please send an e-mail to and have your name placed on a waiting list.
